For the active among you there are many things to see and do in Cornwall, from travelling through the stunning scenery on foot or on pushbikes, investigating the wealth of history and much more.

If you need any hints then here are some suggestions for other things you can consider

Walking - with the South west coastal path there is no shortage of decent walks taking in the gorgeous scenery

Cycling - The cottage has a safe secure, lockable shed to keep bikes in and locally there are many cycle routes taking in the stunning scenery.

Golf - There are plenty of fantastic golf courses in Cornwall, most of which have stunning views and many of which accept County Cards allowing 1/2 price golf. Click the link for a few suggestions

Dancing - Whether you are into salsa, jive, ballroom, tango or just keep fit there will be some dancing to suit you

Restaurants/Pubs - Cornwall has an abundance of great pubs and restaurants, especially in nearby Mevagissey

Cornwall has long been associated with art and photography. The quality of light and lack of pollution in the area has meant it is perfect for capturing the best colours. Many artists and photographers make the pilgrimage to this coastline - some fall in love with it, stay and never go home.

Because of it's rugged coastlines, windswept moors and lack of commercial areas it is also often used in films and TV.

The natural beauty of the countryside as a whole has also inspired some of the great literary works of our time and still does, from romance novels to science fiction, there has been lots.

Below are links to various pages where you can explore the locations of some of this wealth of entertainment

Further pages may be added at a later date.

Rosamunde Pilcher - Author of numerous books her works have been made into a popular TV series in Germany She also features in the movie index and in the literature section

Poldark - Both the 1975 series and the new 2015 series are set in Cornwall with many of the episodes being filmed in the near vicinity.

Wycliffe - Detective series set in Cornwall and based on the novels of W. J. Burley

Most Haunted - A hit paranormal documentary series that ran for 8 years and starred Yvette Fielding and Derek Acorah, I believe the show is making a comeback in 2014

Haunted Cornwall - If you love the thought of ghosts and mysteries then, as well as Most Haunted, there are loads of other ghost stories and ghost walks along with reported hauntings. Here are some of them

Cornish Literature - Being a beautiful and tranquil place as well as ghost stories, there are plenty of novels based in Cornwall (particularly romance novels.)

Cornwall at the Movies - Need I say more, film makers have been making films in the Duchy since 1929 and are still going strong today. Watch the film then visit the location.
